My clients find me to be warm and welcoming! I am ready to listen to whatever is on your mind in a non-judgmental setting. As we move through time, our lives take unexpected twists and turns that we didn't see coming. During those times, someone with an objective point of view can help you find your footing and direction. We are called upon to adjust to changing circumstances several times in our lives and it is during these times, that we need a sounding board and someone who will listen and bring us back to center. I provide a place for you to share what is in your heart and mind in a confidential setting.
At other times, predictable changes occur. We knew that someday we would be dealing with the declining health or the death of a loved one, or we knew our child would be going off to college and the changes that would bring. Maybe you are thinking about retiring and unsure what that will look like for you as you reinvent how you spend your time. I am here to support you with your thoughts and feelings that come with the seasons of life.
You might be someone who has struggled for years with depression, anxiety, mood disorders or the aftermath of trauma. I can provide the support you need by giving you a fresh approach to your challenges. My work with you is strengths-based counseling, helping you clarify your goals and supporting you on your journey to where you want to be.
You may be the college student who is feeling stress juggling academic demands and working through the pros and cons of being away from home. Or are you the recent graduate who is trying to figure out what is next? I can help you with that. Maybe you have recently lost a job. I understand how demoralizing that can be and how what we do in our careers can be so intertwined with our identities. We can work together to repair the losses and find the steps to move forward.
I welcome clients looking for support with perinatal mental health. With my experience and training from the Seleni Institute and the Postpartum Stress Center, I have gained the background to help with pregnancy, loss, and the challenges during the postpartum period. My appointments are via telehealth to make it convenient for moms, dads, and sometimes even the baby joins in! I am flexible in meeting your scheduling needs.
I offer pre-marital and couples counseling. I use the Gottman method as a guide as it is based on decades of research and evidence-based best practices. I draw from other schools of thought as well, to customize our sessions to fit your specific needs.
